Health Parliamentary Committee Head, MP Assem Araji, on Wednesday said in an interview that "the decrease in the number of COVID-19 deaths and infections within the past few days was a good sign, provided that people kept adhering to preventive measures, especially in light of the country’s dire economic and health conditions.
"In the blessed month of Ramadan, large prayer and Iftar gatherings are expected, thus I call on the Lebanese to avoid such gatherings because they will only lead to another coronavirus outbreak.”
As for the slow vaccination process, Araji blamed external reasons resulting from the scarcity in vaccines in most countries, stressing the paramount importance of accelerating the pace of vaccination.
