Head of Restaurant Owners Syndicate Tony Rami declared a state of tourism emergency amid the diesel fuel shortage, even on the black market, warning against closing tourist establishments within the next 48 hours.
In a statement, Rami added that electricity and generators are two basic needs for restaurants to preserve raw materials, maintain food safety and to prepare meals.
If necessary, the owners of restaurants will resort to offering one of the two meals, either lunch or dinner, which will inevitably lead to a disaster.
Rami called on those concerned to act immediately and find a solution to this issue.
