Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Wednesday welcomed at the Grand Serail United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka.
Following the meeting, Wronecka said: “I came to brief the President on the meeting that the Security Council held in New York back on the 29th of November; this meeting was devoted to consultations and was not open to the public, and usually, when I return from New York, I brief the Lebanese authorities on the content of the meeting and the discussions that had taken place on Lebanon — I brief them on how the international community views the situation in Lebanon, and what are the views of Lebanon's friends?
She added: "In general, this was a constructive session and all countries are looking forward to Lebanon's prosperity with the completion of reforms and the holding of elections. This session was devoted to examining the implementation of Resolution 1701; the 15 member states of the Security Council are looking forward to implementing this resolution."
