Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, on Thursday followed up on the assault against a number of young men in Al-Majdal - Jbeil district. 

In a call with Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdellatif Derian, Mawlawi affirmed he was following up on this “heinous crime, on the security and judicial levels, pending the apprehension of the perpetrators to be later handed over to the judiciary.”

Moreover, Mawlawi welcomed MP Ziad Hawat, who praised the Minister's efforts successfully holding elections. 

The pair also discussed the situation of municipalities in Byblos district and the means support them.
