Berri holds array of talks with Ain Al-Tineh interlocutors

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday welcomed at his Ain al-Tineh residence former UN coordinator in Lebanon Jan Kubis, who paid him a protocol visit.

Berri then received a delegation representing the Muslim Scholars Association that included the association’s Board of Trustees and the Administrative Board.

Speaker Berri then discussed the country’s general situation and cooperation programs between "FAO" organization and the Ministry of Agriculture during his meeting with the organization's ambassador to Lebanon Noura Haddad, in the presence of the caretaker Minister of Agriculture Abbas Hajj Hassan.

After the meeting, Ambassador Haddad said: "We’ve discussed and emphasized the importance of food security in Lebanon, especially amid the current circumstances. We’ve also stressed the importance of FAO’s role and its support for all state institutions, especially the Ministry of Agriculture.

On the other hand, the Parliament Speaker cabled Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi congratulating him on June 30, 2013 revolution’s anniversary.
