Is it just me or are we witnessing more and more people living in their head? I’m noticing the majority of Lebanese people stuck in the cobwebs of their mind. Oh so understandable ad relatable. Heck I’m Lebanese. I’ve been through it all.
We’re a traumatized people, we’re exhausted from constantly swimming against the current. We’ve always had a lack of national security, suffered the desolation and repercussions of wars, the recent economic crisis, and the blatant banking sector’s theft which will go down in history for its abrasiveness. The latest catastrophe is the war in Gaza. On top of being a shocking rippling crime against humanity, it is threatening our peace daily. No wonder most people struggle to get out of their overactive minds and simply be. The worries and constant threats surrounding us have wound us up so tightly it is difficult to breathe. Difficult not impossible.
Whenever you feel your overactive mind churning away, return your thoughts back to the present moment. Focus on the activity you’re engaged in and give it your full focus. We have no real control over anything but the present. This is a practice I found most useful from personal experience. It brought me back from my daydreaming and increased my level of happiness tremendously.
Most of the Lebanese feel like absolutely nothing is working in their favor. The war has put a halt to many industries and dramatically decreased tourism and flight activity. Despite the bleakness, and as history has shown us repetitively, after the darkest of times, there’s always a surge of opportunities and abundance. Merely looking back will renew our hope and faith in better days on the horizon.
Seek and you shall find. Keep an eye out for opportunities since it’s proven that you can always figure out a way to make a killing especially in times of crises. The Lebanese are crafty and witty. If there’s a means to profit somehow, they will unearth it and develop it. All over the world we’ve made a name for ourselves for being among the smartest and most adept.
Overthinking can be beaten. Count your blessings, feel gratitude and positivity for being alive and able. That is the right mindset to actually accomplish things in your life. As it happens, you draw in what you think about.
Worry and stress will only get you more worry and stress. While we use our imagination and keep looking for the endless possibilities, we are bound to stumble upon what we are focusing all our energy on. Here’s to a brighter tomorrow!
