Minister of Education Abbas Halabi stated, "We are aware of and share the difficulties and concerns faced by students in the South, but we must meet a national educational milestone by conducting secondary education exams
In an interview with MTV, Halabi said, "The official exams will be held as scheduled on June 24 for Brevet and June 29 for Terminal, at a unified time across all Lebanese territories, and this decision is final."
He added, "We have chosen the exam centers in the safest locations, developed an emergency plan, and distributed the admission cards, which are usually not handed out until 24 hours before the exam."
Halabi continued, "My concern is to ensure that the Lebanese certificate retains its value and importance, I will do everything necessary to prevent it from being replaced by an attestation, and the high school diploma is more than essential."
He pointed out, "I held a series of consultations before deciding to hold the official exams to ensure the students' safety, and as the Minister of Education, my role is to oversee and conduct the exams."
