A hearing on the lawsuit filed by head of the Lebanese Forces, Samir Geagea, and the party against the CEO of LBCI channel, Pierre Daher, took place this Friday under the chairmanship of Judge Fatima Jouni.
Geagea denied at the hearing the existence of an agreement on selling the LBC. "LBC belongs to the Lebanese Forces that has registered it under Mr. Daher's name like all the other media outlets it owns," he said.
"In 2006, I summoned Mr. Daher due to ambiguous measures he took and asked him to give me back the channel but he refused, so I sent him three warnings before the LF ever filed a complaint against him," said Geagea.
Daher, for his part, claimed to have purchased the equipment of the television channel "LBC" in 1992 for a sum of $ 5 million paid in installments.
"The dispute with Mr. Geagea over the TV is political and not financial. It is about the means to run this media outlet which I desired to be for all the Lebanese and not for a specific party," concluded Daher.
