Mohamad Choucair, Chairman of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon, on Monday met with Mexican Ambassador to Lebanon, José Ignacio Madrazo, with whom he discussed the best means to improve economic relations and promote cooperation between the Lebanese and Mexican private sectors.
Choucair confirmed the Lebanese Private sector’s interest in developing economic relations with Mexico, “which embraces a large and active Lebanese community, and which can play a distinctive role in increasing cooperation between businessmen in both countries.”
"There are many promising opportunities that can be jointly worked out, and it is necessary to create a framework for communication and coordination between the private sectors of both countries,” Choucair added.
He highlighted the need to increase trade, which he said remained at low levels, and called for facilitating the entry of Lebanese products, with the highest specifications, into Mexican markets.
In turn, the Ambassador of Mexico, thanked Choucair for his interest in developing bilateral economic relations with Mexico, noting his country's desire to push these bilateral ties forward.
“Lebanon enjoys a vibrant economy and a privileged location in the heart of the region,” the Mexican diplomat added.
