Caretaker Industry Minister, Hussein Hajj Hassan, arrived on Sunday in the Italian capital, Rome, heading a ministerial delegation, upon an invitation by the United Nations University (UNU) to organize three exploratory tours to familiarize Lebanese concerned sides with the best international practices and expertise in activating and operating industrial zones.
The visit will also be a chance to market opportunities for potential industrial partnerships between Lebanon and Italy.
Welcoming the delegation, Italian Parliament Foreign Relations Committee Member in charge of the Middle East dossier, Pino Cabras, stressed that Italy with its new government "will stand by Lebanon more than ever."
Lebanese Ambassador in Rome, Mira Daher, will be hosting a dinner banquet this evening in honor of the visiting delegation, in presence of several prominent dignitaries including the Director General of the Italian Ministry of Industry.
The first tour is scheduled to start tomorrow with the participation of a joint delegation from the Ministry of Industry, UNIDO Organization, the Council for Development and Reconstruction and the Lebanese Industrialists Association.
