"The situation of the Lebanese people is no longer tolerable and there is an urgent need to speed-up the formation of the new government," MP Ziad Hawat said in an interview on Sunday.
Hawat considered that the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate shoulder a huge responsibility in speeding-up this formation. "We are before two options, either to form a government that conforms to Hezbollah's specifications or no government!" he added sarcastically.
"Hezbollah has imposed its conditions in the previous stage, and is doing so this time around regarding the government formation and developing a future plan for running the country," Hawat went on.
He called on the Party to "return to Lebanon and recognize the Lebanese internal system and not to apply external agendas at the expense of Lebanon."
Regarding the Economic Summit in Beirut and the failure to extend an invitation to the Syrian President to attend, Hawat explained that "the legitimacy of the Syrian regime cannot be recognized without the recognition of the Arab League and before a clear statement is issued, in addition to the lack of international recognition in this respect."
"We cannot surpass the international and Arab legitimacy in this matter nor can Lebanon stand against them...We must keep things at the level of diplomatic representation until a formal decision is taken by the Arab and international legitimacies," Hawat underlined.
