Industry Minister Wael Abu Faour stressed Saturday "if reconciliation had not taken place, the rebuilding of the state would not have occurred."
He deemed reconciliation as being "a great gift for Lebanon and the Lebanese and the foundation of all achievements in the country, which was initiated and consecrated by Progressive Socialist Party Chief Walid Jumblatt and Patriarchs Nasrallah Sfeir and Bechara Rahi."
"Had it not been for reconciliation, there would have been no rebuilding of the state or any possibility of spreading the spirit of independence and restoring the system of democracy and liberty in Lebanon," Abu Faour underlined.
His words came during his visit today to Maronite Bishop of Zahle and West Beqaa Joseph Mouawad at the Maronite Archbishopric in Ksara.
"Our visit comes to emphasize that reconciliation has become a reality that is alive in our conscience and our daily lives, and we hold on to it today more than ever," assured Abu Faour.
In turn, Bishop Mouawad welcomed the Minister's visit that reflects the "strong will to live together in mutual coexistence, a distinguishing factor for Lebanon," adding, "We must contribute together in building the Lebanese society."
He concluded by hoping that the new government would "be productive and at the level of the hopes of the Lebanese, because citizens suffer from numerous problems, most of which are environmental especially with the Litani River issue and many others."
