The alternative rock band “Sector 9” released Thursday night their new 11-song album entitled “Something New”. The song ‘Take me back’ has been filmed and broadcasted for several months on social media platforms and has reached more than 10K views on YouTube.
The four Lebanese musicians forming “Sector 9”, Tarek Sidani (Vocals/ Guitar), Riad Mouawad (Lead Guitar), Marcelino Said (Bass Guitar), and Patrick Stephan (Drums) performed in concert at the music hub « Quadrangle » in Hazmieh in front of a passionate audience.
The album marked - since the creation of the group in 2009 - a turning point in the musical orientation of Lebanese bands. It is aimed at a wider audience and it tries to push them away from the pathetic-polemic songs frequently found in the market. It includes the titles ‘Take me back’, ‘Flying submarine’, ‘Hey Lord’, ‘The savior’, and ‘Mona Lisa smile’.
Front man and songwriter Tarek Sidani talks about his past relationships, religion, and politics in a daring stand-off with a geographical region that hasn't fully transformed into a freedom-of-speech accepting communities.
The album's kickoff will be continued with future plans that include a Middle East tour and a few international gigs as well as three new music clip future releases.
