The General Security Directorate on Wednesday warned the Lebanese citizens and travel agencies of Israeli recruits who are trying to enter Lebanon under the guise of tourism excursions, in order to carry out spying missions.
In a statement, the GS highlighted the necessity to keep alert and "not to fall victims to individuals or companies claiming to organize and promote for various tourism tours to Lebanon, whether by email or via social media, and who have no official representation offices or accredited agents."
It explained that the warning came as Israel was apparently attempting to enter Lebanon by recruiting agents among delegations visiting the country under the guise of "tourism excursions," and to use them thereafter for security purposes.
