Strong Republic MP Imad Wakim said Thursday during the budget discussion session at the Parliament that the Lebanese Forces had voted against the budget after having expressed their reservations on this project to the government.
"The LF voted against the budget, but some have forgotten that our party had expressed its reservations on this project to the government and had called for a series of measures for radical reforms, in an attempt to get the country out of the dark tunnel that it currently crosses," he said.
Wakim also denounced the methods adopted by the budget to increase state revenues - methods that affect the poor rather than control squandering - before dismissing the draft budget as "disappointing".
"We are concerned that the government will exceed the spending ceiling and be unable to provide the expected income, which would be catastrophic," he said.
