Deputy Prime Minister Ghassan Hasbani chaired Lebanon's delegation to the high-level political forum at the United Nations on Thursday, which included MP Dima Jamali.
In his delivered word, Hasbani highlighted the importance that the government places on sustainable development, notably through including it in the ministerial statement and the establishment of a National Committee for its development and following up on its objectives.
Hasbani stressed the importance of cooperation between the state, civil society, the private sector, youth and local authorities to develop the sustainable development plan and implement its set goals.
The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that commitment to the goals of sustainable development will be a key factor in attracting funding from the international community for projects related to infrastructure, health, education, environment, equality and peace.
On the sideline of the political forum, Hasbani held a series of meetings with senior UN officials, including Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammed, President of the General Assembly and Chairman of the Economic and Social Council, as well as Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia.
