Prime Minister Saad Hariri received Thrusday at the Grand Serail Azzam al-Ahmad, Fatah Movement Central Committee member and general supervisor of the Lebanese arena, accompanied by the Palestinian Ambassador to Lebanon Ashraf Dabbour, and the Secretary of Fatah and Palestinian Liberation Organization factions in Lebanon Fathi Abou al-Ardat, in the presence of the chairman of the Lebanese Palestinian Dialogue Committee Hassan Mneimneh.
After the meeting, Al-Ahmad said: "I was pleased to meet with Prime Minister Hariri, at the request of President Abou Mazen and the PLO Executive Committee. I came after the meeting of the committee to deliver a message to Prime Minister Hariri, the Lebanese people and Lebanese officials. I told the prime minister that there is no crisis between Palestine and Lebanon and there will be no crisis. It is a passing issue that can be resolved by dialogue, as President Abu Mazen said, and this is what we said to Prime Minister Hariri and the other Lebanese officials we met. As President Abu Mazen said, we reiterate.
that the position of the Palestinian leadership is: "We are guests in Lebanon and we appreciate this hospitality. We are under the Lebanese law and we do not want any laws of our own."
He added: "We should be united as Lebanese and Palestinians. Every time a terrorist force tried to infiltrate the camps and use them to harm civil peace in Lebanon, we stopped these attempts. Any problem can be solved by dialogue. I tell our people in the camps, you can protest and be angry, but everything will be solved by dialogue and no Palestinian will be harmed.
Be reassured, we are all, on the official and popular levels, against the deal of the century. Lebanon boycotted the Manama workshop. Lebanon and us refuse the resettlement and any attempt to reduce the rights of the Palestinians to decide their fate, end the occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state, in application of the international resolutions."
