The Attorney General of Appeal in Mount Lebanon, Judge Nazek el-Khatib, issued a decision on Friday to arrest two nuns, including the president of an association, on charges of children trafficking.
This decision came after the two nuns refused to execute a judicial decision to deliver children to the security forces.
The judicial decision also found that children are subjected to sexual harassment and abuse, in addition to suspicion of selling a number of them.
The two nuns were later released on Saturday, before being summoned again by the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation for interrogation at the Central Intelligence Department in Beirut.
