Kataeb leader, MP Samy Gemayel on Tuesday welcomed UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Jan Kubis, with whom he discussed preparations underway for the International Support Group for Lebanon's meeting in Paris on Wednesday.
"We have put forward an emergency short-term economic plan to help kick-start the economic wheel through practical steps aimed at meeting the market's liquidity needs to revitalize the country's economic movement, mitigate the damage caused to the Lebanese, and spare them the daily suffering they are exposed to on more than one level as a result of the ruling team's negligence," a statement by Kataeb Party said.
The statement also stressed that "today's priority is to appoint a prime minister who is not part of the current political class; a PM who is recognized for his competence, and who will be able to form a mini-neutral government of competent and independent professionals who are willing to endeavor to rid Lebanon of its ordeal."
