Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Dr. Ali Hamieh, on Thursday welcomed the newly appointed head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, Ernesto Ramirez-Rigo.
During his Lebanon visit, Ramirez-Rigo will be holding a series of meetings with senior Lebanese officials and members of the ministerial committee tasked to negotiate with the IMF.
In today's meeting, Ramirez-Rigo and Hamieh held a tour de horizon on the latest reforms carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, which are being followed-up by the International Monetary Fund.
"The meeting mainly focused on the reforms carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation in Lebanon's seaports, airport, infrastructure, and the transportation sector in general. We've also voiced our thoughts about the International Monetary Fund's project," Hamieh said.
"We are convinced that Lebanon's renaissance will not see the light without the revival of its public facilities," Hamieh added.
