Lebanon's Foreign Ministry congratulated the American people on the 2018 congressional elections process, in a statement issued on Wednesday, particularly the elected deputies of Lebanese origin namely Ralph Abraham, Darren Lahoud, Dona Shalala, Garrett Graves and Charlie Christ.
The Ministry also congratulated Chris Sununu on his election as governor of the State of New Hampshire.
"Lebanon is proud of its Diaspora who raised their country's name up high and were a role model of integration into the communities hosting them and opening the way for their success," statement read.
The Ministry considered the winning of American deputies of Lebanese origin in these elections as a great victory for the Lebanese community and the Americans of Lebanese origin.
"We hope we will work together to strengthen Lebanese-American relations, for the welfare of both countries and both peoples," statement concluded.
