President Michel Aoun on Thursday extended greetings to the Lebanese people, in general, and Muslims, in particular, on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad's birthday.
"The holiday this year comes at a time when Lebanon is still recovering from the numerous surgeries that took place during the past months in various economic, social and financial aspects, until the Beirut port explosion on August 4," President Aoun said in a statement on Thursday morning.
He expressed his hope that "the coming days will carry the beginnings of addressing the issues that Lebanon suffers from, which is hope. Today, we are called to work on achieving them, each from his position, so that our next holidays carry the joy of the resurrection of our nation from its failure, and the factors of our national unity are documented in the homeland of dialogue and gathering."
