The Middle East Airlines announced in a statement that, starting from 6/8/2021, all passengers arriving to Lebanon will be subject to the following procedures:
1. Groups obligated to self-quarantine in a hotel:
Passengers arriving from: United Kingdom, Cyprus, Turkey, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, India, Malawi, Ethiopia, Zambia, Liberia, Kenya, Gambia and Sierra Leone (not passengers transiting through these countries) are required to have a hotel reservation at their own expense, for a period of 4 days / 3 nights in an approved hotel. Passengers who do not have a hotel reservation are not allowed to board the plane.
2. Groups not obliged to self-quarantine in a hotel:
- National and foreign diplomatic missions and their families, provided that they adhere to self-quarantine for a period of four days at their residence.
- Passengers who have previously received at least one dose of any COVID-19 vaccine without a specified duration.
- Passengers who were infected with the COVID-19 and recovered from it within a period of 90 days before the date of their travel to Lebanon, after presenting an official document as proof.
- Passengers transiting by land to Syria through Rafic Hariri International Airport - Beirut.
- Passengers under 18 years of age, whether they are coming alone or accompanied by their parents.
3. Groups obligated to conduct a PCR test before coming to Lebanon:
All passengers arriving to Lebanon , except children under the age of 12 years, must hold PCR negative test result from one of the certified laboratories by local authorities at point of departure and present test result with QR code upon check in. Negative test result validity must not exceed 96 hours between the test result and the date of arrival to Lebanon.
Passengers who do not carry a negative PCR test result with QR code are not allowed to board.
4. Groups not obligated to conduct a PCR test before coming to Lebanon:
- Passengers who have received the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at least two weeks before departure.
- Passengers who have received a complete dose of COVID-19 vaccine (which only requires one dose) at least 2 weeks before departure.
- Passengers who were infected and recovered from COVID-19 within 90 days before their departure date after showing an official document confirming that.
Note: All passengers arriving to Lebanon are subject to a PCR test upon their arrival at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, with the exception of children under 12 years of age and UNIFIL forces.
