Caretaker Public Health Minister Jamil Jabak participated Saturday in Doha Forum 2019, organized by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the slogan of "Governance in a Multipolar World", patronized by the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The two-day Forum is attended by various country leaders, government heads, cabinet ministers, ambassadors, current and former officials and decision makers in the fields of politics, economics, energy, media and culture.
In this framework, Jabak attended several meetings on health and economic affairs, alongside his meeting with the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani.
He pointed in a statement to "the importance of Lebanon's participation in the Doha Forum at this time, given the special conditions in our country." He also considered that "the Forum reduced the distances between countries and served as an inclusive platform in strengthening the logic of openness between people of the world."
It is to note that the Doha Forum this year addressed various global issues, in an effort to find common grounds and solutions to the challenges at hand, most prominently the crises in Syria, Yemen and Libya, Gulf security, confronting extremism and taking up firm measures in fragile states.
Minister Jabak is scheduled to return to Beirut on Saturday evening.
