Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants expressed on Saturday regret in a statement addressed to the United Nations over the loss of Lebanon’s right to vote at the UN General Assembly.
"Lebanon is among the countries that are not entitled to participate in voting in the General Assembly, because it has not paid the contributions due," the Foreign Ministry said.
"Lebanon has performed all of its duties and completed all transactions within the legal deadline," the Ministry confirmed.
Finally, the Ministry considered that "regardless of who is responsible, Lebanon is affected by its interests and the prestige and reputation of the state," and hoped that "the issue will be addressed as soon as possible, because the matter can be rectified.
