Court of Cassation Attorney General, Judge Ghassan Oueidat, on Tuesday said that the French Minister of Justice had approved to provide the Lebanese justice with the required support to activate the electronic bracelet service in Lebanon.
Interviewed by NNA, Oueidat said that he had earlier contacted the French minister, through the French embassy, noting that the electronic bracelet technique has become an urgent need, especially in line with the launch of the electronic interrogation mechanism.
The electronic bracelet is usually attached to the hand or ankle of a person who is accused of minor crimes while being released instead of being in prison. Meanwhile, the bracelet enables the police to follow the accused's movement via GPS signals.
