Greek Orthodox Metropolitan, Basilios Mansour, Pastor of the Diocese of Akkar, on Tuesday welcomed Greek Ambassador to Lebanon, Catherine Fountoulaki, at the Archdiocese's House in the town of Sheikh Taba - Akkar.
The meeting reportedly touched on an array of public affairs, after which the Greek diplomat toured educational and health institutions affiliated to the Orthodox Archdiocese of Akkar.
Fountoulaki hailed “the depth of the uniting civilizational identity between Lebanon and Greece, and the strength of the historical ties between the two countries.”
She also touched on the country’s economic crisis, "and the painful affliction, especially after Beirut Port blast on August 4, which shook the world.”
"Greece was generous in its contributions facing this affliction at all levels, Fountoulaki added.
In conclusion, she wished "Lebanon and its people a speedy way out of this crisis."
