AFP: MEA airliner conducts emergency landing in Rome following bomb-related false alarm

A Middle East Airlines aircraft was forced to conduct an emergency landing in Rome as talk of an onboard explosive device quickly spread.

The Airbus 320 was en route from Geneva to Beirut when two Italian warplanes rushed to meet the airliner and force it to land.
