MP Ibrahim Kanaan maintained that the new government must be formed according to the results of the recent parliamentary elections, and that those seeking a bigger share were the ones obstructing the formation process.
"The Strong Lebanon bloc is with a national unity government and with the largest representation possible," Kanaan said following the bloc's weekly meeting, held under Free Patriotic Movement's head, Caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil.
"The Prime Minister-designate is the most concerned with the formation as per the constitutional, parliamentary, and democratic norms," he indicated, highlighting the necessity to determine parties' shares inside the government according to the legislative polls' results.
"Those seeking a bigger share than what they represent are the ones hindering the formation," he added, stressing that the bloc does not cling to any ministerial portfolio.
Moreover, the MP maintained that forming the government was not enough, and that a clear social, economic, and educational plan must be devised.
"The state policy must be extraordinary, touching on the priorities of the Lebanon, instead of sheer rhetoric and poetry," he continued.
On the Syrian refugeees' issue, Kanaan called the Lebanese parties to unify their stance, capitallizing the necessity to negotiate with all concerned sides, including the United Nations and the Syrian govenrment, to ensure the Syrians' return to their country.
