The Future bloc held Monday afternoon a meeting at the Center House chaired by Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
At the end of the meeting, this statement was issued and read by MP Osman Alameddine.
"The Future Parliamentary Bloc held a meeting today at the Center House headed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri. The meeting discussed the situation in the country.
First: Premier Saad Hariri briefed the bloc on the latest developments about the government formation and the results of the announced and unannounced consultations.
The bloc expressed its satisfaction with the adopted process, which will lead to the formation of the government and the launch of work and reform.
The bloc stressed the importance of expanding cooperation with the Prime Minister, committing to the requirements of political calm, and avoiding debates that would reflect negatively on the efforts of the formation.
Second: The bloc discussed Tuesday's Parliamentary session to elect the parliamentary committees, reviewed the tasks that will be given to the members of the bloc on the legislative level and took the necessary decisions in this regard.
Third: The bloc considered that discussing the Lebanese-Syrian relations the way this is happening now through some stances and statements is inappropriate. The opinions of the parties do not necessarily reflect the position of the state and its concerned institutions. Thus, the stances reflect the opinions of those who issue them, and the council of ministers is the authority that determines the policies and the course of relations, particularly regarding controversial files."
