Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc on Thursday held its regular weekly meeting at its headquarters in Haret Hreik, under the chairmanship of MP Mohammad Raad.
"Last week, Lebanon overcame a dangerous ordeal that threatened its civil peace and stability. Had it not been for the prompt mobilization of some loyalists who are concerned about the unity of the Lebanese, the flames of discord would have been triggered in the mountain because of a measure that has not been well-studied," the bloc said in a statement issued in the wake of the meeting.
Moreover, the bloc praised the positions taken by Hezbollah in this regard, "positions that have led officials to take urgent action to nip discord in the bud."
The statement also relayed the party's keenness on preserving the country's security, peace and stability, deeming it a responsibility that no one should neglect. It also called for a language of dialogue and calm discourse.
The bloc members also offered condolences to the family and friends of the victim, Mohammad Abu Diab, hoping that the consequences of the incident in Jahiliya will be handled with wisdom.
With regard to the formation of the government, the bloc finally said that the best interest of the country required a swift formation of the lengthily awaited cabinet - a cabinet in which all those who have the right to participate are represented.
