Lakkis begins a work visit to Jordan to discuss means of agricultural cooperation

Agriculture Minister Hassan Lakkis started Saturday a work visit to Jordan to discuss means of agricultural cooperation between both countries.
Lakkis began his meetings by holding talks with the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Ibrahim Al-Shahaheda, discussing ways of enhancing cooperation in agricultural fields and increasing the volume of trade exchange for agricultural commodities, in order to enhance export opportunities and economic conditions of farmers in both countries.
They also discussed eliminating obstacles facing the passage of agricultural commodities through the transit line and customs duties, emphasizing the need to protect the local Lebanese and Jordanian products and cover the shortage of agricultural crops between the two sides.
Both men agreed to hold meetings by the Joint Agricultural Technical Committee for all sectors, including the private sector in both countries.
During his visit, Minister Lakkis will also be holding talks with the Ministers of Industry, Trade, Supply and Transport in the Jordanian government.
