Saad says no to “truncated” budget

MP Osama Saad said on Wednesday that the 2019 state budget included figures that were not up to the challenges facing Lebanon.
“The budget neither respects the law nor standards of justice,” he said in an address he gave earlier today during the budget discussion session at the House of Parliament.
“The budget does not carry a vision to develop productive sectors, such as those of agriculture and industry, and does not plan the modernization of state facilities. It is a budget that does not appease the concerns of the Lebanese,” Saad added.
Saad criticized the government's use of poor and low-income earners to raise funds, condemning the alliance between finance, politics, and power.
The MP finally announced his utter rejection of the draft budget, dismissing it as “truncated”. “It will make the Lebanese pay an even bigger price,” he warned.
