Chris Martin once questioned his sexuality, the Coldplay frontman revealed.
In an interview with Rolling Stone on Tuesday, the 42-year-old rocker said the thought that he might be gay 'terrified' him while he was attending boarding school in England.
'I was like, "If I'm gay, I'm completely f**ked for eternity" Martin recalled thinking at the time.
The father-of-two said his initial fears grew after he was bullied by his peers at Sherborne School in Dorset, UK.
'When I went to boarding school I walked a bit funny and I bounced a bit and I was also very homophobic.'
'I was a kid discovering sexuality,' said the ex-husband of Gwyneth Paltrow.
'I was terrified and then I walked a bit funny and I was in a boarding school with a bunch of quite hardcore kids who were also gone for their thing and, for a few years, they would very much say, "You're definitely gay," in quite a full-on manner, quite aggressively telling me that and it was weird for me for a few years.'
However a few years later, Martin had a revelation that caused his fears to dissipate.
'About 15 and a half, I don't know what happened, I was like, "Yeah so what?" and then it all just stopped overnight. It was very interesting. Once I was like, "Yeah, so what if I'm gay."'
Chris went on to date an extensive list of high profile beauties, and married Shakespeare In Love star Gwyneth Paltrow in 2003, with whom he shares two kids, daughter Apple and son Moses.
The singer-songwriter has been linked to the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Kylie Minogue, Kate Bosworth and Dua Lipa.
He is currently dating Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson.
The British hitmaker arrived in New York last week as he prepared to spend Thanksgiving with his latest girlfriend.
The couple were said to have split earlier this year, before reuniting in August.
In June, a close friend of the pair told the Sunday Express Chris and Dakota had decided to part ways due to being at different stages in their lives when it came to having children.
The source told the publication: 'Chris made it clear that he wants more kids as soon as possible but Dakota's career has really taken off and that's the last thing she wanted to think about right away.'
The friend added: 'It got to the point, last month, where a light seemed to flick on in both their heads and they realized they were pulling in completely opposite directions so they decided to call it a day.'
