Abdel Samad after Cabinet session: Government extends general mobilization until April 26

Speaking at the end of Thursday’s Cabinet session at Baabda Palace, Information Minister Manal Abdel Samad announced that the Cabinet has agreed to extend the “general mobilization” until April 26, ie for an additional two weeks.

The Cabinet convened in session on Thursday presided by President Michel Aoun.

Minister Abdel Samad said after the Cabinet meeting: “Prime Minister Hassan Diab stressed that the government has so far succeeded in curbing the spread of the coronavirus epidemic and all ministers have carried out their duties. However, since we are afraid of a wider spread of the epidemic, we have extended the general mobilization for an additional two weeks, that is from April 12 till 26.”

“The Cabinet has also decided to further activate measures and procedures”, Abdel Samad added.
