MP confirms to MTV that the large fire in Akkar is caused by arson

In an interview with MTV, Strong Lebanon bloc member, Assaad Dergham, confirmed that "the size of the losses as a result of the Akkar fires is very large and it is difficult to estimate it at the present time, and that it will be impossible to compensate for the damages," noting that "Syrian army helicopters are extinguishing the fires that extend to Syria, and the Lebanese army is widely carrying out its duties."
He pointed out that "the fires have spread in Aandqet, Akroum, Qobayat, and Rwaymeh," and declared that "the evidence has become available and confirms that the fires were caused by arson, and that unidentified persons had set tires on fire in the forests."
"Akkar is on the verge of being completely outside of the Lebanese state's control," Dergham added.
