Civil Court of Cassation: Khalil and Zaiter's lawsuit against Judge Bitar dismissed

The Civil Court of Cassation, headed by Judge Naji Eid, rejected on Thursday the lawsuit submitted by MPs Ali Hassan Khalil and Ghazi Zaiter, in which they requested the ousting of judicial investigator in the crime of Beirut port explosion, Judge Tarek Bitar.
The Court considered that the judicial investigator is not a judge of the Court of Cassation, nor a judge of the Public Prosecution of Cassation, and therefore the Court does not have the authority to consider a request for his dismissal, which necessitates the dismissal of this case and all other claims submitted by the plaintiff.
