Chernobyl nuclear waste facility destroyed amid fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces, reports say

Russian soldiers have entered the area surrounding the former nuclear power plant at Chernobyl, with reports suggesting that a nuclear waste storage facility there has been destroyed amid the fighting.

An adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister confirmed that Russian troops had reached the zone from the direction of Belarus.
