A resident of France has won 160 million euros in the pan-European lottery EuroMillions, the newspaper Le Parisien reports.

It is specified that the amount of winnings has become the seventh largest in the history of the lottery held in France. Prior to that, in 2020, a resident of French Polynesia got the biggest win – he received 220 million euros.

The identity of the lottery winner was not disclosed, but it is known that he purchased a lottery ticket in the department of Pas de Calais in the north of the republic. Some of the lottery participants who happened to win large sums did not tell their children about their victory. In their opinion, the information could reach the intruders who would try to kidnap the children for ransom.

At the same time, it is not known whether the winner claimed the right to the prize, but he was given 60 days to do so. If he does not take advantage of the opportunity within the prescribed period, then the winnings will be returned to the lottery.

Earlier, an American won 100 thousand dollars (six million rubles) in the lottery. It is noted that she decided to celebrate the victory by buying new lottery tickets, thanks to which she got rich by another 300 thousand dollars (18.4 million rubles).
