Biden says world 'turning the tide' toward democracy

US President Joe Biden said Wednesday that the world was "turning the tide" toward freedoms as he led a second democracy summit with an eye on China and Russia.
"Thanks to the commitment of leaders... gathered today and the persistence of people in every region of the world demanding their rights be respected and their voices be heard, we're seeing real indicators and real indications that we're turning the tide here," Biden told the summit.
