Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed from Dimane that, "many things unite us in this meeting today like respect for one another, diversity, and Lebanese unity which is Lebanon's asset, and we expressed our fear that values may be threatened," considering that "trying to convince those who do not want to be convinced is the hardest thing, and this is the goal of Taif, meeting with different sects to be a bridge to any place."
Mikati confirmed that "we seek to fill a small gap, even if it was only a statement, a meeting, or a single word, in light of all the disagreements," adding that "we are ready to go anywhere this meeting leads us to, there is no agenda for today, and we will discuss two issues: the Lebanese formula and moral values, and the spiritual family is a fundamental pillar."
And finally he expressed his disappointment that some people did not attend the meeting under the pretext of politics, adding that "we are here to confirm that we are one heart and we are all Lebanese."
