Kuwait hosts Gaza aid conference

United Nations agencies and regional and international humanitarian organisations will gather in Kuwait on Sunday to explore ways to address the spiralling crisis in Gaza.
“After seven months of death and deprivation, the people of Gaza need more than ever to see the international community come together to expand the humanitarian response,” the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said of the gathering.
The aid meeting comes as Gaza remains cut off from all emergency aid and relief shipments since Israeli tanks seized the Rafah crossing with Egypt on Tuesday ahead of its ground invasion of the overcrowded city where some 1.4 million people are sheltering.
