The head of the Executive Council of the Amal Movement, Mostafa Fouani, issued a directive to all members of the movement prohibiting participation in or organization of any provocative actions or activities that contradict the leadership's guidance to respect the privacy of all Lebanese across their sects and regions, particularly "motorcycle parades."
The directive stated:
"Based on the vision of the honorable Imam and leader, Sayyed Musa al-Sadr, who emphasized that internal unity is the best form of resistance against the enemy, and on the words of the head of the party, Speaker Nabih Berri, that national unity and coexistence are the foundations of Lebanon's survival, all members of the movement are prohibited from participating in or organizing any provocative popular actions that go against the leadership's directives. These directives stress the importance of respecting the privacy of all Lebanese across their sects and regions and rejecting provocations that endanger general stability, especially motorcycle parades, or engaging in provocative acts and sectarian or regional slogans, which contradict the movement's charter and vision."
The movement emphasized that violations of this directive would subject offenders to disciplinary measures, up to and including expulsion from the movement.
