The Vatican announced that "His Holiness Pope Francis has finally passed the critical stage," nearly a month after being hospitalized due to a pneumonia infection. He has dedicated himself to prayer in his room, which he may soon leave unless an emergency arises.
A source from the Vatican stated: "He is in good spirits after a peaceful night and followed the prayers held in the Paul VI Hall at the Vatican during this period of Lent leading up to Easter via video."
He has also continued therapy sessions to regain his breathing capacity, which had been severely affected by his illness.
