A powerful explosion shook the Syrian city of Latakia, leaving several people injured and others trapped under the rubble.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that "a violent explosion struck the Raml Al-Janoubi neighborhood in Latakia," adding that "the cause of the explosion remains unknown."
Meanwhile, the Syrian Civil Defense confirmed that its emergency teams were heading to the blast site in the southern neighborhood.
According to initial reports, there are casualties and individuals trapped under the rubble of a four-story building in Raml Al-Janoubi. Search, rescue, and emergency response teams have begun operations at the scene.
