Culture Minister, Beirut Governor discuss heritage preservation

Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh met with Beirut Governor, Judge Marwan Abboud, at the National Library, joined by Antiquities Director Sarkis Khoury, and advisor Haitham Al-Sayyad. The meeting focused on protecting Beirut’s architectural heritage and restoring historic buildings.
Governor Abboud described talks as productive and praised Minister Salameh’s leadership, expressing optimism for future collaboration.
Abboud further noted that both sides share a unified vision and will work on a detailed plan to preserve the city's historical character. “We are hopeful about this partnership,” Abboud said, highlighting the importance of safeguarding Beirut’s identity through coordinated efforts.
