Watch: Shipping Weapons to Israel Is Forbidden

The Turkish port of Mersin witnessed protests organized by activists against attempts by a Danish shipping company to use the port for transporting military equipment to Israel.
The protesters gathered at Republic Square in the Tavşanlı area, denouncing the company’s role in supporting the Israeli military machine by shipping spare parts for F-35 fighter jets and other military supplies.
Activists' spokesperson İsmail Yerli stated that the vessels Maersk Detroit and Nexo Maersk were carrying military cargo from U.S.-based Lockheed Martin facilities to Haifa Port via Mersin, pointing out that this made the Turkish port a party to military operations against Gaza. The activists also protested the passage of these shipments under the cover of “diplomatic cargo” without inspection.
They called on the Turkish government to ban the company’s vessels from using Turkish ports and to halt all cooperation with firms supporting the Israeli military. The activists vowed to continue their protests until Israel ends its assault on Gaza.
They also reiterated their solidarity with the Palestinian people, stating that “supporting the resistance is a humanitarian and moral duty.”
