Watch: Defense Minister from Interior Ministry Says "Failure Is Not an Option"

Defense Minister Michel Menassa affirmed that "the army is deployed across all Lebanese territory, which means that security is maintained throughout Lebanon," stressing that the army is stationed outside polling stations.
Speaking from the Ministry of Interior, Menassa said: "Cooperation exists and coordination is ongoing between the Interior and Defense ministries; we operate outside polling stations and only intervene upon request from the Interior Ministry when necessary."
He added: "Coordination must always exist between the army and the Internal Security Forces, each according to its authority, and failure is not an option, as the elections will take place, the army will suppress any violations, and maintaining security and stability is a duty."
