US President Donald Trump commented on the video clip that recently stirred global public opinion, in which Brigitte, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, was seen forcefully pushing his face as he disembarked from a plane during a visit to Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi.
When asked by reporters at the White House for marital advice to his French counterpart, Trump paused briefly before saying: “Make sure to keep the door closed,” describing the incident as “not good.”
Speaking about Macron and his wife, with whom he and First Lady Melania Trump have spent considerable time, Trump said: “That wasn’t good. No. I spoke to him, and he’s fine, they’re both fine — they’re really good people,” adding: “I don’t know why that happened, but I know them well — they’re okay.”
