Army Chief broaches situation in Lebanon, region with Chief of Defense of Italy

Lebanese Army Commander, General Rodolphe Haykal, received at his Yarzeh office, the Chief of Defense of Italy, General Luciano Portolano, on top of a delegation.
Discussions covered the general situation in Lebanon and the region in light of current developments, and ways to enhance cooperation relations between the armies of the two countries.
The discussion also touched on the role of the Italian contingent operating within the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
General Portolano also laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the courtyard of the Ministry of Defense, in the presence of the Army Commander and a number of command officers.
